We have had a lot of fun with this 10 Apples Up on Top math activity. It’s amazing how easy it is to have a little fun and learn at the same time with only a printed piece of paper and some little pom poms.
For this activity, we first spent some time reading the book 10 Apples Up on Top by Dr. Seuss. It’s a fun little book that teaches counting, kindness and silliness all in one. You can find it at your local library or order it on Amazon ( Click the picture to visit my affiliate link).

You can use the worksheet however you like. We use it in a couple of different ways.
Find the number – Call out a number and have the child place a pom pom ‘apple’ in the corresponding column. This teaches number recognition and counting as they stack each ‘apple’ one on top of the other, counting to the number they are given.
Cover All – My daughter wanted to cover it all. So we covered and counted each column until the paper was full. This activity teaches counting by starting from one each time.
I’m sure there are a few other ways you can use this sheet. Just get creative! And let me know in the comments if you think of a new way!
