My kids and I enjoyed this easy patriotic candle holder craft for kids yesterday for our ‘Make It Monday’ craft.
It was simple enough for the youngest to do all by herself and messy enough for the oldest to participate just to get messy. Oh, and he knew fire would be involved once the product was finished.
For this craft you will need:
- Votive holders
- Tissue paper in patriotic colors
- Modge Podge
- Craft Paper Punches
I could only find this circle crafy punch at my store. What I really wanted was a star punch similar to these:
But, I think it turned out nice anyway.
Just punch out several pieces from each color. Pre-punching is best if you have children that can’t sit still. Then give each child a glass votive holder, paintbrush and modge podge and let them decorate as they please.
Each of my kids decorated a little differently. One decided to spell out his name in dots.
When finished, let the older ones light the candles to admire their work.
