Okay, I hate to break it to you, but there is no 100% method of knowing whether you’re unborn child is a boy or girl except having the baby. Ultrasound is not even 100%, but it is the most accurate way to tell beforehand.
My sonogram isn’t for another five weeks, so I thought I would play around with some ways to predict gender and see what they came up with.
I was sent an Intelligender Gender Prediction Test to try out and had a lot of fun with it. Just remember if you try it, that it is only for fun! The accuracy is somewhere around 50% I believe and not the definitive answer as to what you are having.
It is very easy to use. Just pour a little urine into the cup with the included syringe, stir and wait.
On the back of the cup is the color for boy with the word BOY written on it. On the front is the word GIRL with it’s corresponding color. Whichever color the urine matches the most closely, is the sex of your baby.
My results were pretty clear.
According to Intelligender, I will be having a boy!

Another method that many people like to use for fun is the Chinese chart for gender prediction.
You type in your due date or conception date (whichever you are certain of), your birth date, and the gender of you baby is predicted based on the Chinese Chart.
The Chinese Gender Chart says I will be having a boy!
An old wives tale is that when you go in to hear your baby’s heartbeat for the first time, you can tell what you are having based on the speed of the heart rate.
A heart rate above 140 means your having a girl, below 140 means your having a boy.
My little ones heart rate was between 150-160.
According to heart rate, I will be having a girl!
So, 2/3 of the tests I have done say it will be a boy. But, we will get a better look in a few weeks.
I know it’s hard to wait. I find myself anxious for the day of my sonogram to try to get a glimpse of the sex of my baby. But until then, it’s fun to try other methods and wives tales to predict gender.
